Three important points grabbed away in Antequera. The team managed by Fernando Torres secured their first victory of 2026 with a resounding 4-2 win, renewing their positive momentum. Atlético took an early lead with goals from Arnau (14') and Cubo (18'). After the break, the home side pulled one back through Osama Chi and threatened to equalise, but Atlético bounced in style extending their lead to four with goals from Arnau (71') and Jano Monserrate (76'). Late in the game, Marcelo sealed the 4-2 victory, keeping Torres's men in contention for the top spot.

Fernando Torres expressed his satisfaction after the match in an interview with the club's official media: “It’s a great result, which is what we came here for. A very good start to the game allowed us to take the lead and from there, defend very well, transitioning whenever possible. We kept the scoreline lower than we would have liked for much longer, until they scored. I think we reacted very well then, keeping a bit more of ball possession”

“We still felt we could make it 3-1, and from then on, it could have been a bigger scoreline. Then came the penalty for the opposition, making it 4-2. There are a lot of things to correct, but we're focusing on the positives: it was a very difficult ground, against an opponent who was in excellent form, and we secured a very important victory,” the manager added.

The gaffer also shared a very positive assessment of the group and their progress throughout the season: “I’m very proud of the team, of the group they’re building. All the situations we’ve had to correct are made easier by the players’ willingness to contribute whenever they’re needed. Today, the players who came off the bench showed once again that we can improve during matches, and everyone feels important. That’s our goal for the second half of the season: for them to understand that every day is a learning experience, a situation where they can emerge stronger, and that the final result is a consequence of their daily efforts.”

Finally, the coach is already focused on the next match, a trip to CE Europa pitch, a six-pointer contest up on top of the table: “They are an exceptional opponent, with a very special style of play, very tough to analyse, very difficult to predict where they’ll hurt you, and I’m really looking forward to the match. We’re preparing for a very interesting week because of the opponent we have, and I’m eager to get there and add another three points.”
