The Atlético Madrid fans in Alcalá enjoyed a happy lunchtime fixture as the Madrileño side secured a hard-fought victory against Antequera in the dying moments of stoppage time. Fernando Torres' team fought hard with courage and heart for the three points, achieving their objective of keeping them in the hunt for the top spots in the league. A hat trick from Arnau Ortiz (64', 88', and 106'), the last two goals from the penalty spot, left Bassele's opener (12') and Aspra's equaliser (75') meaningless.

The home team's manager, Fernando Torres, praised his players' effort in achieving another important victory in front of their fans: "The fans enjoyed a great match, which is the most important thing, and with that late goal, it was pure Atlético Madrid."

Torres points out that during the match, “two very different halves were evident: I think opponents were much better in the first half, they had possession, they were able to move the ball around, they felt comfortable in defence… It was very difficult to understand how to solve the problems they created for us, and we went into halftime down 0-1. We made adjustments, and the second half was completely ours. I think we displayed 25-30 tremendous, spectacular minutes; we have to work on maintaining that level of performance from the beginning.”

“The first half wasn't up to our standards, but we're taking away all the positives: the players' composure, their reaction, falling behind again and then coming back. Congratulations to the players for doing a very difficult job, and especially to the fans, who came out again to support us. I think their support is making a difference and what they're transmitting to the team,” he added, acknowledging the growing number of fans who are coming to support the reserve team week after week.

“Of course, thanks to our fans, who are coming to see us in greater numbers and are now enjoying that connection with the players, as we saw at the end, all enjoying it together like a family. And, as we always say when we win a match, now it's time to enjoy it, disconnect, and come back recharged to prepare for a week in an excellent stadium, with a very supportive fanbase, even though they were the away team for Murcia. A stadium to enjoy and, of course, to think about winning,” Torres concluded.
