Seven-time winners Liverpool welcome five-time winners Everton on Sunday in the fourth round of the FA Cup at Anfield, kick-off at 16:00 hours (GMT). The Blues, who have not won at Anfield for almost 10 years, will be buoyed for the cup clash following Monday’s Premier League result. Liverpool were forced to settle for a draw when a goal from Tim Cahill five minutes from full-time cancelled out a Steve Gerrard strike from outside the box. Fernando Torres, who enjoyed his first start since November, struck the outside of the post in a frenetic Merseyside derby.

Everton suffered early exits in both the Carling and Uefa Cups, and the FA Cup tie versus Liverpool will be the Blues most important game of the year. The most prestigious domestic cup tournament in the world is David Moyes’ team’s only real chance of silverware this season.

The match at Anfield, which will be the second game between the two teams in six days, will be a repeat of the 1985/86 and 1988/89 FA Cup finals at Wembley. The Anfield club won both meetings, 3-1 and 3-2 (aet) respectively. The last trophy the Toffees won was back in 1995 when they lifted the FA Cup.

The Liverpool number ‘9’ scored his first goal in football’s oldest knock-out tournament in the third round win away to Preston North End. Torres, who came on mid-way through the second-half, popped-up at the death to round-off the scoring with the Reds second of the evening.

Fernando will be looking to add to his tally in Merseyside derbies versus Everton. The Spaniard, who has three goals to his name, all coming in the Premier League, is one goal away from Michael Owen’s tally of four, and two behind Red legend Kenny Dalglish, who is on five. The overall record is held by Liverpool striking legend Ian Rush, who between 1980 – 1987 and 1988 – 1996, scored an incredible 25 goals.

Should the clash on Sunday finish all-square on, a reply will be held across Stanley Park at Everton’s Goodison Park.
