Round of sixteen of the Champions League kicks-off with four games on Tuesday night, before Dudek’s current team, Real Madrid, and previous team, Liverpool, meet on Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. The goallie, who knows both teams well, believes that both matches are likely to be close encounters with very few goals.

“Real Madrid and Liverpool are two sides who have worked well in their defence, so I would be surprised to see many goals scored. Liverpool have quality in all areas of the pitch. Reina is an excellent goalkeeper, while in defence Carragher has great quality in the air. Gerrard and Alonso play with a great tempo in midfield, and this forms a superb spine to their team.”

Although Dudek feels that there will be very little to choose between the two sides, the shot-stopper believes that the Anfield number ‘9’ could tilt the balance in the Red’s favour. “Fernando Torres has great speed and is a player who can make a difference.”
