Atlético de Madrid B achieved a hard-fought victory at the Estadio Rico Pérez in Alicante, where they completed an impressive performance against a strong Hercules side challenging to the Primera RFEF top spot. The team managed by Fernando Torres took the lead through a goal by Mollejo (38') going into the break in advantage. Nico scored the equaliser on the hour mark, but the Red-and-whites did not give up and clinched the win with Omar Janneh scoring the decider late (86'). The Madrilenians recorded their third victory in Primera RFEF threading seven games unbeaten and going up on the standings.

After the game Fernando Torres acknowledged his team's victory as “another step forward for the team: competing against a great team again in a fantastic stadium with lots of people watching them play. These are the kind of games that make them grow a little faster.”

“They have shown once again that they are capable of fighting, of struggling, of having personality. That is what I liked most today, we played with strong character, as if we were a veteran team when we are not.
