Mourning in Saturday. Chelsea and Spain national team striker Fernando Torres has paid tribute to the former Atletico Madrid coach Luis Aragones, who died early in the morning. Torres, who was player for Atletico first team between 2001 and 2007 before moving to Liverpool, worked with Aragones during his final spell at the club between 2001 and 2003 and made his debut in top-flight Spanish football Primera división.

Also Torres and Luis Aragonés were together in the beginning of the all-time greatest Spain National Team era, winning his first title on Euro 2008 when the striker scored the only goal in the final game against Germany. The well known as ‘Sabio de Hortaleza’ was in charge of Spain from 2004 to 2008.

“RIP Luis Aragonés. Thanks boss, I will never be able to thank you enough for everything you did for me” wrote Torres on his Twitter and Facebook official accounts after the 75-year-old passed away on 1 February.
