Fernando Torres spoke to TVE pitchside after the final whistle of Spain’s 6-0 win against Poland. The striker, who had come on in the 66th minute, marked his comeback from injury with his side’s fifth goal. “Two months have passed since my last game which was for Liverpool against Benfica. The doctors and technical staff agreed that I could play some minutes to day and I’m happy to have scored on my comeback. I was out for a while and I just wanted to get back playing again”.

“I'm glad to be playing again with my teammates. We are all fit, and hopefully Andres Iniesta’s knock tonight was nothing. The squad is made up of 23 first team players and we are all going to do our bit for Spain. It’s important though to keep our feet on the ground, as we all remember Spain’s World Cup exit at the hands of South Korea (Korea-Japan 2002 World Cup)”, said Fernando Torres.
