Vicente Del Bosque named Fernando Torres in his 22-man strong list for the two World Cup qualifiers versus Turkey. The first Group 5 match will take place at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday March 28, kick-off at 22:00 hours local time, with the clash in Turkey to be held on April 1st at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium.

The Liverpool forward spoke about the upcoming games versus Turkey, and the importance of taking things one step at a time, during his last ‘F9T Live’. “We must take one game at a time. We have the game against Turkey in Madrid, then Istanbul, and so on until we seal qualification from our group. The time to think about South Africa and the World Cup is as soon as we arrive there to take part in the tournament.”

Spain who lead Group 5, hold the upper-hand in head-to-head meetings with Turkey, who currently lie second, with three wins, four draws and just the one defeat. 2010 World Cup qualifiers - Group 5 table.

Fernando Torres will join his team-mates following Liverpool’s Premier League game at home to Aston Villa on Sunday.
