Liverpool take a 1-0 lead to Romania for the return-leg of the Europa League against Unirea Urziceni on Thursday, kick-off at 18:00 hours (GMT). During the first-leg played at Anfield a week ago, the Reds struggled to break down the visitors. The pressure however finally paid off in the 81st minute when Ngog found the back of the net with a header after Pacheco had nodded a Babel cross ball back across the face of goal.

Fernando Torres could feature in the European fixture after a successful run-out in Liverpool’s draw away to Man City at the weekend. The match would be the striker’s first game in Uefa’s new-look tournament after having played for the Reds during this season’s Champions League.

Rafa Benitez side entered the Europa League after finishing third in their Champions League group behind Fiorentina and Olympique Lyon. Thursday’s opponents Urziceni joined the Merseysiders in the Europa League after snatching third-place from Glasgow Rangers in Group G. The first two spots went to Sevilla and Stuttgart.

Unirea, who won the domestic league title for the first time in the club’s history last season, will need to beat Liverpool by two clear goals when the teams meet in Bucharest. Should the hosts win 1-0, the game would go into extra-time, and if there was no change by the end of the 30 minute period, the tie would be decided by a penalty shoot-out.

The winners of the last 32 tie will face either Lille or Fenerbahce in the next round, with the first-leg away and the second-leg at Anfield.
