Fernando Torres received a very warm welcome from supporters on his country’s arrival in Armenia. From the first day the striker set foot in Yerevan, fans cheered on the Spain and Liverpool number ‘9’. During his country’s five day stay in Armenia the striker signed numerous items of memorabilia and posed for photos. At Spain’s arrival in Yerevan, at every team stroll, and at every training session, Fernando was accompanied by groups of fans. It was also amazing to see supporters get behind Torres throughout the Group E match.

During the World Cup qualifier, supporters at the countries main stadium held aloft banners and posters with Torres’ name and photo. Shirts with the forward’s name and number on the back could also be seen among fans. The book recently launched by the Spaniard, ‘Torres, my story’, was also present during Spain’s 2-1 victory.
