The Spain team made their way to Durban by airplane on Monday to prepare for their opening game against Switzerland. A short one hour flight separated their base camp in Potchefstroom and the city where the European Champions will kick-off their World Cup campaign.

The travelling Spain party were welcomed by locals at the airport and also along their short journey to the team’s hotel. There were fans waiting at the hotel as Fernando Torres, the most acclaimed player, joined his teammates in posing for photographs and signing autographs.

Before departing for Durban, the Spain squad trained at the North West University in Potchefstroom. The footballers trained at 16:00 hours (local time), the same time their game will start against the Swiss on Wednesday.
