Two goals in Alicante secured the first win of the season for Atlético’s reserve team. In a challenging away fixture, the squad managed by Fernando Torres took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal from Álvaro Santos in the 35th minute. After a hard-fought second half—during which the home side was reduced to ten men following a straight red card for Jiménez—the Red-and-white squad finally sealed the victory in stoppage time with a goal from the French player Kamate (90’ + 6’).

Fernando Torres expressed his satisfaction with the win and offered a heartfelt dedication in comments shared by the club’s official media channels: "Our first victory of the season has arrived. The most important thing is that we can dedicate this win to Ciri, as well as to Miguel and his family. It is for them, of course. We’ve also had another family situation involving a member of the coaching staff... Anyway, a lot is happening, and football always helps bring a smile to their faces, even if just for a second. So, that is the most important thing of this victory."

"I think it was a very balanced game, with chances at both ends. The team once again showed their willingness to dominate in possession and be aggressive without the ball—to not be afraid to go out and take the initiative. There were moments when they pushed us very deep—more than we would have liked—but the players' quality made the difference," the coach concluded while still at the Rico Pérez stadium.
