Celebrities from the world of sport and entertainment have joined together to raise money for the Spanish delegation of Joint Force Command Brunssum’s International Charity Committee. Fernando Torres, who has donated a pair of signed football boots, joins LA Lakers power-forward Pau Gasol, who donated a pair of basketball trainers, Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso and Liverpool shot-stopper Pepe Reina donated a pair of gloves, Albert Contador a yellow cycling jersey, Sergio Garcia a pair of golfing shoes… and the long list also includes several articles donated by the bullfighter Jose Tomas, by Spanish actors Antonio Banderas and Javier Bardem, by the cyclist Carlos Sastre, and also by the Spanish singer Julio Iglesias. The starting price for all the items available in the auction is 1 euro.

All the money raised from the world-wide auction will go to the Spanish delegation of Joint Force Command Brunssum’s International Charity Committee. The organisation is entirely formed by the wives and partners of the military personnel stationed at NATO’s base in Brunssum, Holland. The non-profit organisation regularly holds events to raise money to help fund humanitarian projects across the world.

This year the delegation has worked towards creating food banks and centres, centres for children, and water wells in countries like Afghanistan and Burkina Fasso, just to name a few. You can place your bid here.
