Voting has now started for the uefa.com users' Team of 2009; a selection of players and a manager, who according to supporters, have shone the most in the past 12 months. And for a second year running, fans can vote for Spain and Liverpool number ‘9’, Fernando Torres.

The voting for a European XI has been an annual feature since 2001 with over 18.3 million votes having been cast in the previous polls. Last year Torres, who was outstanding for Liverpool, fired Spain to victory in the European Championships with the only goal in the Vienna final against Germany. His impressive performances for both club and country earned the Spaniard a place in uefa.com’s Team of the Year 2008’.

Fans have until 8 January 2010 to select their star players and manager from a list of nominees. The dream team of eleven players and a coach will be revealed on 20 January. You can vote for your choice here.
