The Chelsea and Spanish National Team’s striker Fernando Torres keeps staying in the exclusive club of the 10 players with a higher media value within the football world. That’s what the report made by the prestigious University of Navarra says, which measures the value of players and clubs taking into account their presence in the written press during the last season in more than 120 countries.

In the report corresponding to the 2010/11 season Torres appears in the ninth position, with a media value of 10,2 points sharing it with two other players (David Villa and Etoo’o). Since the ‘9’ signed with Chelsea his index has been increased by 1 point, given that in the study published last February 2011 the value was set in 9,2 points. Fernando is the only player of the ‘blues’, while some of his national team mates shared the privilege: Xavi (4º), Iniesta (5º), Villa (7º) and Iker Casillas (10º) paint the list with red and yellow.

The Premier gives other five players apart from Torres, although only Wayne Rooney has a higher media value than the Spaniard: Rooney (3º), Cesc (11º), Giggs (13º), Gerrard (14º) and Tévez (17º).
