Fernando Torres trained on Thursday evening in the penultimate session ahead of Friday’s trip to Johannesburg. The striker joined all of his teammates for the work-out behind closed doors at the Northwest University in ‘Potch’. The full squad trained without problems apart from midfielder Javi Martinez, who was forced to leave the session early after receiving a knock on his ankle.

The players will train again on Friday morning ahead of their trip to Johannesburg where the team will face Paraguay on Saturday. Spain however will not train on the Ellis Park as FIFA want to preserve the surface ahead of the last eight match.

Despite Spain not training at the venue for Saturday’s quarterfinal clash, Vicente Del Bosque will be joined by two players for a press conference at Ellis Park the day before the match.
