Two goals in three minutes were enough to lose three points at San Siro on Sunday fixture. Milan hosted Palermo well placed to settle on the top four of the table but an own goal on 23’ (Zapata) followed by a second strike by Dybala were enough for the visitors to get the win. From then to the last minute a defensive and well-organised Palermo held an AC Milan side in control of the game but without luck in their countless attempts to get a goal. Despite the introduction of El Shaarawy and Pazzini after the break, the Rossoneri were not able to find a way back. Fernando Torres was on Inzaghi’s starting eleven and played his first full game ever for AC Milan. -Serie A table-

It was a tough match for the rossoneri against an organised and compact Palermo side. Diego Lopez made a number of excellent saves in the first-half to keep Milan in the game, but there was nothing that could be done to stop an unlucky Zapata scoring an own-goal on 24 minutes and Dybala’s strike on 26 minutes. The squad reacted strongly in the second-half with Torres and Pazzini leading the line upfront. Despite their best efforts, Milan were unable to comeback. Here are some stats to emerge from the match:

22- the number of players used by coach Filippo Inzaghi during the first 10 matches of the season. Riccardo Saponara made his season debut from the first minute against Palermo.

4- the number of points more that Milan have compared to this time last year. Last season Milan after 10 matches had collected 12 points: 3 wins, 3 draws and 4 defeats.

13 December 2009- the last time Palermo won away at the San Siro against Milan. On that day the Sicilian side also won 2-0. Miccoli and Bresciano scored the goals.

6- the number of matches Milan went unbeaten before the match with Palermo on Sunday night. That run consisted of 2 wins and 4 draws.
