Atlético get all three points from single-goal away win over Eibar (0-1)

Atlético de Madrid beat SD Eibar away in Ipurua thanks to Kevin Gameiro's strike in the 27th minute. The Red-and-whites tookall three point from the Basque ground and maintain themselves as the main contenders with leaders FC Barcelona in the race for the title. Fernando Torres played the final stage of the game after replacing Gameiro on minute 76. -LaLiga Table-

Atlético started off strongly and had several chances in the first half. Ángel Correa had a great opportunity to score in the first minutes of the half, but he couldn't find the back of the net. Atleti kept on creating chances and in the 27th minute, Gameiro beat Dmitrovic. A great Antoine Griezmann pass found his compatriot who didn't doubt to score the only goal of the night.

In the second half, the roles reversed and Eibar dominated possession. However, Atleti defended well and the Basque side didn't create many clear-cut chances. Inui had the best chance for Eibar in the 85th minute, but Jan Oblak was there to make the save and secure the three points for Atlético.

With this win, Atlético de Madrid are six points behind league leaders FC Barcelona, pending their result against Real Sociedad.
