With their fifth straight win Atlético de Madrid stay in title contention with leaders FC Barcelona. Red-and-whites defeated Málaga after a single goal from substitute Correa in a hard-fought game against the Andalusian side. Fernando Torres was on the starting eleven and played the full 90 minutes. Now attentions turn to Champions League semi-final first leg at home against German giants FC Bayern. -Liga BBVA Table-

Matched and intense first half between two teams solid in defence and in which the control of the ball by our team did not translate into goals because, in the clearest two of this half, Ochoa saved the goal in a direct free direct from Koke and in a right-footed shot from Carrasco. Thus, with a goalless tie, we reached the half-time.

In the second half, the entrance of Correa was fundamental because the Argentinian, when he had only been five minutes on the pitch, opened the scoring with a right-footed shot from the edge of the box. Málaga saw how their plan failed and had to attack if they wanted to change the direction of the match. And they did so, but a shot from Juanpi in the final stretch scraped the post.

Three golden points against a difficult rival in the final rounds of the League. Fifth straight win of our team in the League. Now, we think about the Champions semi-final against Bayern Munich at the Vicente Calderón.
