Red-and-whites closed the Australian tour with a defeat against Melbourne Victory (1-0). A single goal from Ansell forma a corner kick at the edge of half-time was enough for the Australians to win the game. Fernando Torres was on the bench after the 90-minute good performance against Spurs and did not played on this second game of the Australian Tour.

In the first half visitors dominated the game and Amath, could have put Atlético ahead twice, first with a volley shot, and later in a one-on-one after a great pass between lines form Tiago. Other scoring chances came from Juan Moreno, a distant shot that the keeper failed to catch and an angled shot cross by Manquillo, after a great control with his chest.

In the final stretch of the first half, a free kick by Melbourne Victory would be headed by Ansell, who would rise above our defenders and send it to the back of the net, which would ultimately be definitive. After this match Red-and-whites returns to Madrid to continue with the pre-season training programme in the capital.
