The red and white captain also appeared in the action that finished sending off Sergio Ramos.

Javier Aguirre’s players jumped into the field with an only objective: to achieve the victory and they proved it from the first minute. The red and white coach selected a starting team prepared for the physic battle and the pressure: Luccin and Maniche combined with precision at the center of the field and soon they took control of the match. Petrov already warned at the first minute, with a shot to Casillas’ hands, but the second time was the good one. It was minute 6’ when Fernando Torres started a great play at the right side of the area, he centered to Maxi and the Argentinean gave it to Mista who, alone in front of Casillas, scored the first one.

Even so, the red and white players didn’t renounce to achieve the victory. Fernando Torres tried it inside the area, but Casillas won the game and blocked the number ‘9’ shot. Reyes was the one who answered to this action, but his shot ended with the same luck.

Thirty minutes for the end of the match, Aguirre decided to move the bench entering ‘Kun’ Agüero instead Mista. The young Argentine had an immediate impact on the game. Although one more time Fernando Torres who had a great control at the middle of the field, started to run by the right side to the vertex of the area and Sergio Ramos didn’t find another way to stop him but with a foul. The foul supposed the second yellow card for the player from Andalusia and he was sent off the field.

Shortly after the captain tried it again, sending to Agüero a gold ball but the Argentine didn’t manage to send the ball to the bottom of the net. From that moment to the end of the match there weren’t many more chances at Bernabeu Stadium, the last one for Atletico at 43’. One more time the player was Sergio Agüero, when after a personal move faced up Casillas. Everything pointed out to an Argentine’s goal, but it was a chip shot that left very high.

Finally the referee pointed out the way to the locker rooms confirming the definitive 1-1 draw as the final result of the expected Madrilenian derbi; it was one of the best matches of Atletico at Bernabeu Stadium in the last years. The next derbi, will be on February at Vicente Calderon Stadium.
