Atletico de Madrid get all three points from trip to La Rosaleda (0-1)

10-02-2018

Atlético de Madrid beat Málaga away in La Rosaleda, in what was an intense match. Following this win, Atleti are just six points from league leaders FC Barcelona, pending their result against Getafe. Fernando Torres replaced Costa in the final stage of the game, playing an outstanding performance up front but he couldn’t add a goal to reach the 100th landmark in Spanish top-flight Primera división. With this win, Diego Pablo Simeone has led our side to 150 victories in LaLiga. -La Liga Santander Table-

Antoine Griezmann scored the only goal of the afternoon in the 39th second. The Frenchman took advantage of a deflected Saúl shot to send the ball to the back of the net. Griezmann subsequently grabbed Nacho ‘Cholito’ Barberá’s jersey -a youth footballer who passed away some days before- from the bench and raised it to the sky. Cholito, this win is for you!

After scoring, Atleti dominated the match and Málaga couldn’t create any clear-cut chances. Koke, who played his 350th match for Atleti, was a rock in the midfield and robbed several balls for visitors.

Following this win, Atleti are just six points from league leaders FC Barcelona, pending their result against Getafe.
