Atletico suffers the first defeat at Calderon Stadium against GetafeFirst Madrid ‘derbi’ of the season was settled by the first defeat of the season for Atletico at Calderon stadium. Bianchi’s team didn’t manage to win Getafe, that played to tie and won by the minimum.

Although the fluency of the game wasn’t the same that against Barça or Zaragoza, at the first half Atletico enjoyed the best chances of the match, with a header of Pablo who went away above and a dangerous shot of Kezman by a pass of Fernando Torres. Also Petrov tried it with an incursion from his side, although his shot did not see goal either.

Meanwhile Getafe practiced a defensive football, but practical, very tidy, covering the hollows and without doubting in resorting to the hard game to abort Atletico’s attacks: Up to four yellow card and one red card got Schuster´s team from Calderon Stadium. Fernando Torres, victim of this hard game, had serious difficulties to receive the ball and create chances.

In the renewal the panorama didn’t change much, Atletico kept looking for the goal with more heart than ideas and Getafe kept defending and looking for the fast break. Then, Petrov and Pablo tried again to open the score in both moves without reward. Until half an hour to end the match, when Cotelo decided to send off itself with a brutal foul to Petrov. With a man less in the roster of Getafe the reaction of Bianchi’s squad was expected. Although the referee was in charge to balance the match in minute 71 with a nonexistent foul in the edge of the area that Pernía transformed in the first and the only goal of the match.
