Atlético de Madrid played a great match at the Benito Villamarín and achieved the three points thanks to the early goal by Koke. After this win the team climb up to second spot in the League table.

Atlético de Madrid knew perfectly well what to do at the Benito Villamarín Stadium. High pressure at a fast pace and first touch game. Betis was surprised and could do little to avoid the first goal, on 7 minutes. Xavi Torres found himself in a red and white ambush, the ball ended at the feet of Fernando Torres who shot and Adán cleared. Koke was following the play and scored the first goal.

Our team found an attacking gold mine on the left wing, Betis’ right. Koke, who played as the third midfielder, formed a lethal partnership with Carrasco and Filipe Luis, creating a lot of danger time and again. There were up to four clear chances of scoring and all from that wing. Betis’ players, on the other hand, only worried Oblak once in the first half on a set piece.

In the second half, our team continued along the same lines, controlling the match. Oblak once again showed his quality in a shot that was looking for the top corner and Atlético’s goalkeeper deflected it to the corner. On the contrary, Godín and Griezmann could have ended the game. There was even a possible penalty on Griezmann that was not called by the referee. And the Frenchman crashed a shot on the woodwork. Final win by the minimum that places Atletico second on the table.
