Atlético de Madrid held a draw in the semi-final with a 1-1 draw to Barcelona, but due to the result of the first leg match (1-2), the aggregate score is 3-2 for Barcelona, that advances to the King’s Cup final.

Atlético de Madrid got off to a cracking start at the Camp Nou, determined to score early on and shake the knockout round a bit. There were several chances, and Cillessen became the saviour of Barcelona. First, he saved a hard shot from Carrasco, then, Savic's header, later another drive from Koke and a header from Godín. Four clear chances in 17 minutes that could have changed the fate of the qualifying round. However, in Barcelona’s second chance, Luis Suárez scored close to the half-time.

In the second half, the match could have changed with a goal disallowed to Griezmann. It was just after Sergi Roberto was sent off for a double yellow. Our team put pressure on the home team without a reward. Carrasco was also sent off after his second yellow card and both teams played with ten players. Gameiro suffered a penalty with 10 minutes to go but missed his shot. Only minutes later, the Frenchman scored the 1-1. The team came very close to drawing the match but it could not be and Barcelona advanced to the King’s Cup.
