Fernando Torres attended in a Press Conference after celebrating a private training session at Ciudad Deportiva of Majadahonda. A bit more of 24 hours to make the ball roll on the grass of the Calderon Stadium in which will be the second derbi of the season, the red and white captain analized the clues that will define the match Atletico against Real Madrid.

The forward remember that “the last time we won Real Madrid was the descent year at Santiago Bernabeu and the truth is that it was long time ago, but luckely all season we have two opportunities to win, at their Stadium and another in ours. At the first leg we miss a good opportunity and now we have the second one. The die is cast and let’s see what happen”.

The red and white number ‘9’ is sure that “after a long time, its time to make happy to the supporters, to us and to break the bad runo f the last years. We know that are more than three points what it mean a derbi to our supporters and to the team. We didn’t play good against Sevilla and we have to face up this match in a different way. I see the team calm, and convenced to win”.

Regarding to the match played against Sevilla, Fernando standed out that “the most important is that we have a chance all the week. The derbi is a good match to win back. I insisted against Sevilla we did everything wrong; what we hadn’t needed to this team was attitude and probably Sevilla team won us in that aspect, that is what have hurt us more. We can lose for details, because the rival has been better or by lack of concentration in a moment, but never because we needed attitud. Luckely a week after we have before us another great match to demonstrate what happen with Sanchez Pizjuán was an accident and we are at the same level like higher teams.

When we asked him if he would shot a penalty during the derbi he doesn’t hesitate at all and he affirms that “of course I would shot it again”.

Torres considers that the team “didn’t have anxiety. We can have it because long time ago we don’t win to Madrid, but they have been above us this last years. They have fight for the title and we left at the middle of the table. Now we have three points left and with the aim to fight for the Champions League. The match of the first leg was more equalized and we played on equal footing, so it could happen anything”.

The striker didn’t doubt valuing to the rival and he standed out “Real Madrid is always Real Madrid. People talk about the are not going through a good moment, but they are only to four points of the number 1. It is a team that out of home they played very good and the achieve points. So, in these matches it doesn’t matter what both teams are doing and the situation in which they are. Since I am in the team I don’t remember to be as higher at this point of the season and I hope it wasn’t an illusion and it last until the end of the season. So we have to compete against the higher teams and in the derbi is a good match to do that.

Fernando added about the Real Madrid “if it has aims to the League’s title. It is very near of the first places and if it lose at the Calderon it takes a step backwards. I don’t think we aspire to that and we do to Champions. In other side, the Real Madrid problems doesn’t affect us and we shouldn’t give our opinión about something we don’t know”.

The red and white football player expected “a Real Madrid like it has been seen during all the season. Effective and it will fight for the match, without forgetting the quality of its players, that can take the points ahead. We now how they play and how to play them. What we shouldn’t do is to make some mistakes like happen at the match of the first leg. I hope a similar match and I think who score first will have won a lot”.

Torres doesn’t doubts “I wish we played like we did at Bernabeu. We tied for a mistake and we know we can repeat it. I wish Madrid team gives us the ball like happen at Bernabeu and we could control the match. Real Madrid always had has the ball and plays in attack; now probable play in a different way, but always he has the ball. If we control the match, like happen at Bernabeu we will have more options”.

Fernando, changing the subject, he recognized that “we talked a lot about the points we lose at Vicente Calderon, but we have four points without losing and the numbers aren’t bad. Now we have a chance to keep adding at Vicente Calderon against Real Madrid”.

The captain standed out “is a clue match at this season. The next month we will see if we stay with the upper teams and we fight again to come back to Europe. It will be matches against direct rivals and this first one will be useful to us to demonstrate that we can be on the top. After the defeat suffered at Sevilla the team is hurt because they played better than us, but I don’t think we were very far away from the level of those teams. We have to demonstrated at the pitch, starting with Real Madrid and keeping with the match against Recreativo. What a better match than a derbi one to get even with the Sevilla defeat! Is an important match to us and for our supporters”.

When is asked him if he is worried to score, he said “what I want is to win. People always talk about that, but if we win that would be the least important thing.
