Fernando Torres attended to a Press conference after the training session at Ciudad deportiva of Majadahonda to comment his feelings regarding to Atletico season. The captain showed very convinced that achieving a victory against Osasuna and the classification to UEFA Cup it would be “a step forward, but a small step to this squad. It should be upper, but each one is where deserve it. We will where we deserve, I hope will be at UEFA but, if not, we will have to do self-criticism because nobody has take us anything and we are are where we deserve it.

“It has been a long week, but now is forgotten the defeat against Celta. We are working the match in Pamplona and we are obligued to win and to wait our rivals don’t win”, he added.

Regarding to the clue to achieve the victory at Reyno of Navarra Stadium, Fernando remembered that “we have played in differents fields and achieved the three points, now we have another final. They work better as a team, because they have more experience together, but we have to be concentrate and trying to achieve the victory”.

F. Torres doesn’t surrender and he showed faith to obtain a place at UEFA Cup, clarifying that “we are not going to surrender in a week. We have in a year fighting for the aim. We don’t depend of us, if the others win we will be where we deserve it”.

The captain considers very important to achieve the classification to UEFA, because he believes “that will let us to have more incomes and great players will come. If we don’t achieve that, we will be with the same limits that this year. That’s why we what the continuity of everybody to be a step forward and to be secure in Europe the next campaign and to makes the Club grow”.

An regarding the possibility to play the Intertoto Cup, Torres said “the season conditioned, but nobody can’t deny. If at the end we have to go is what we deserve and to know that we are there for our own merits, but if we have had things well we have already been at Europe. The year we play it we noticed at the end of the season. If we don’t want to be at this situation we have to win at Pamplona and to wait”.

The madrilenian forward isn’t follower to do great revolutions and, like the rest of his teammates, he think that is necessary “to give confidence because the next year we will be a step forward. It is not good starting every year from zero and I think with time and this coach we can achieve more results that if the next year we would started from zero again”.

In reference to the posible continuity of Javier Aguirre training the team, he recognize that “the decisión isn’t ours, the Club is in charge to do things. As in our future like the coach’s. It take times to adapt to a new coach. There are a lot new things and it will be important to keep everything towards the next year. At the grass you can see that we aren’t a team, that’s why we want continuity.

Regarding to his future and the possibility of leaving Atletico Madrid, in the case of not being at Europe next season, Fernando Torres was short and repeat “each time has its moment and its time. Talking about me in this moment is very selfish to my Club, because above all is the Club. On summer we will talk about it, we will talk about offers, and the only reality is the situation we are now”.

“Is the same every year. My attitude is winning here and I have a lot of years left. I am sure we can achieve it and is the objective I have. At the end who decides it’s me and Miguel Angel or Enrique Cerezo. While we want to be together, we will be. The real opinion is mine and the Club’s. It is a good sign to have offer, worst would be the year with no offer, if important clubs comes it means that I am growing and improving. The next year it will be crucial, for the Eurocup, and I know that everything is going to go well. The Club is going to grow and then it will let us to grow individually” he said.

Finally, fernando Torres made reference about the rumours about possibles payments to third teams for winning: “I think we have to worried about our things. We don’t depend of us, we have to do our things and see if the others fail. They talk about payments, but I don’t think a player run more or play with more seriousness if recieves an extra pay” he concluded.
