Atlético slip to defeat away against an on-fire Real Sociedad (3-0)

20-04-2018

Big blow in San Sebastián. Atlético lads gave it their all in Anoeta, but couldn't get the win. Willian José -in the fisrt half- made the opener and Juanmi scored two late goals for locals trough both lightning counterattacks. Fernando Torres made an impact after the break as the number ‘9’ came into the game replacing Correa. Atlético fought for the goal but Torres were denied by Rulli in the comeback mission.

The match started off intensely and our team was defending well, while Real Sociedad dominated possession. Willian José scored the first goal in the 27th minute.

In the second half, Atletico came out with lots of intention and had a few chances to score. However, Fernando Torres and Šime Vrsaljko's chances went out wide. In the final stretch of the match, Juanmi took advantage of two counter attacks to score two goals.

The next match will be on Sunday in the Wanda Metropolitano against Real Betis.
