FT: Do you remember the first time we met? It was in a restaurant near Ifema Wasn’t it? We went to prepare a video…

 

Dani: No, no. We met each other almost three years ago in a friends' meal at Nuevos Ministerios’ zone. The one that you said was later, we went to speak about the video we recorded.

 

FT: I used to like your music, and I knew that you were coming to the stadium, kid. I had friends employed at the box and they used to tell me: "The singer of El Canto del Loco has come!!".

 

Dani: I’m an Atletico’s member for a long time, since I was a boy I was going to the stadium with my father to see Pedraza, Futre… and since Simeone, I think, that there wasn’t a banner, a leader as you are. You’re a person that attracts attention, a special guy, with talent. You’re of that kind of persons who never make you indifferent: Or you love them or you hate them. I identified myself with you, you are a fighter, a young guy, that you have achieved what you have wanted from below, that you come from a neighborhood and everything that you have is shared by you with your friends and your family.   

 

FT: Give me a hug!! (Laughs). I always liked your group. We had friends in common and I was always telling them to call me too when they´ll meet for lunch with Dani, if it didn’t matter them, of course…

 

Dani: Yes, one day we speak by telephone.

 

FT: I was with this common friend and you called him. I told him "let me speak to him, and we’ll met for lunch". The relation could have finished with the video, but not, I identified myself with you from the first moment.

 

Dani: And me with you (Laughs). Yes, it could have stayed quite only in the video, and, though we don’t meet every day, we remember each other a lot. There is something nice between us.

 

FT: The most significant thing that we have in common is that we have managed ourselves to do what we like by our work.

 

Dani: Besides, you and me know that, furthermore professional life, a normal life exists, and the way of telling you things on your professional life is different from how another person could say it to you. I try to speak the least possible of football with you, and more about other things. The same thing happens me, there are times when the least I desire is to speak about El Canto del Loco, about how many concerts I have done and all about that. I rather speak about usual things, as the everybody when meets with friends.

 

FT: Everything but about work. When you are among friends the last thing you want is to think about work, is normal. As I don’t like it, I suppose that you neither, do you?

 

Dani: That’s right.

 

FT: Another thing that kept my attention was when I met you the first time that you continued meeting with your friends from always, and now, when we plan something you come with your friends and I come with mine, we make all of us a great group. I know many people who continues in touch with their old friendship, but not daily.

 

Dani: Besides, I have my friends working with me. In order for other people to take the money, is better that my friends took it.

 

FT: We have to help them.

 

Dani: That’s always.

 

FT: While you are at the top they must not lack anything.

 

Dani: Certainly.

 

FT: Of course.

 

Dani: Your winning character kept my attention, and when one is a winner you are at everything.

 

FT: Give me another hug (Laughs)

 

Dani: And you are a kid, only 21 years old. I have 28, but also I’m a bit kid and sometimes it’s difficult for me to assimilate and to confront everything that happens to me. Imagine me with your age. I believe that you are going to be a player of a long trajectgory and you have to demonstrate many things along your life.

 

FT: It’s better to go slow than fast.

 

Dani: Also you have things less good than others, haven’t you? For instance, this aquarium that you have put in the lounge (Laughs)

 

FT: What are you saying, I love it!! (Laughs)

 

Dani: I think that sometimes we have the same defect.

 

FT:  Which one?. 

 

Dani: It comes because we are too much demanded by what surrounds us. Since we get up till we go to bed we have to demonstrate how good that we are, the few times we are wrong and to cover the expectations of everybody. Sometimes it looks like we are in that movie…

 

FT: Instead of making see the world that it isn’t like that…

 

Dani: That makes as be shut and we can’t be always as we really are.

 

FT: And sometimes, we put ourselves in defense, especially when the things go bad.

 

Dani: When everything goes bad you are the critiques’ area, when everything goes well also you are full of praise. That swing burn us very much.

 

FT: It’s the price that it’s necessary to pay for doing what you want. Besides, it’s an exam every week.

 

Dani: Well, for me, the exam is less often.

 

FT: Yes, you are less questioned.

 

Dani: The truth is that yours is very hard.

FT: Of course not!. I assume it delighted and I wouldn’t change myself for anybody. There are people whom are born with a star and they manage to do what they like with work and talent. For example you: You have achieved it with work and sending thousands of demos until you have obtained it, and there are many people that have stayed in the road because they don’t have that star. That is cause of something, and if  things go badly sooner or later your talent will appear and you will return to your place.

 

Dani: Saying me these things it’s normal that we were so friends, don’t you? (Laughs)

 

FT: Also we have other things in common. (Laughs)

 

Dani: And others things not. I think that you like to be calm, and I’m quite the other way around. More eager, more active. I can’t stop quiet!!

 

FT: It’s normal, what do you want?. We go to any place and it happens what always happens…

 

Dani: Of course, it’s cause of that we normally meet for lunch, to have dinner with friends and we try to avoid the agglomerations.

 

FT: Since that one at the mall, do you remember? We went shopping, your fans and mine were at the same place and the security had to keep us in a store to avoid the chaos.

 

Dani: But in that moment, my popularity wasn’t so big as yours

 

FT: That is what you think, the same one or more. When I go with you is incredible, an authentic danger, though you insist in saying is not (Laughs)

 

Dani: The truth is that now, sometimes, I can’t not even put gas (Laughs)  

 

FT: Well, That means that it goes well professionally, right?

 

Dani: I already know, but sometimes I would like to have a conversation with a friend in a restaurant without feeling myself observed.

 

FT: One thing takes the other one.

 

Dani: Also, there are occasions in which someone who doesn’t know you insults you. That’s too much. There is a limit, isn’t it?

 

FT: Don’t worry about that, there’s a lot of envy around.

 

Dani: I just care about what my family and friends tell me.

 

FT: There are every kind of people, but most tell you good things.

 

Dani: That´s right, there are many people who tell me that songs bring beautiful memories, or that they’ve gone to a concert that was impressive.

 

FT: Which of them? I like all of them, but the ones that were specials was that one at Calderon Stadium this summer and that one at Fuenlabrada, when you persuaded me to go out on the stage. (Laughs)

 

Dani: It’s great to change roles. If I hadn’t been part of a pop-rock band I’would love to be a football player.

 

FT: But it’s horrible!

 

Dani: Of course not!, I’m sure that it isn’t that much.

 

FT: No, no, I say that it’s horrible the way you play (Laughs). I can’t sing because I do it very bad, but I believe that I could play the battery… or the guitar. (Laughs)  

 

Dani: Yes, of course! but go from eight to eight into a van and go from one hotel to another one at Puerto Rico, California, Mexico in order to do a promotion. My friends probably work from eight to six and then they go out for fun. We are very limited. In your case you can’t escape any way because you have practice every day, you play every weekend, you must keep a diet… I’d like to see many people in your spot, to see how they would bear it.

 

FT: I’d like to try yours. I go to see you at concerts and It’s wonderfull: watching how they mount the stage, then having at a full stadium, the backstage activity, the way you go out and all the people totally dedicated. In a football match the crowd is sometimes half and half, there are opinions for everything, on the other hand they support you unconditionally, but I imagine that when you do the same thing for 24 hours it could overwhelm, and you’ll be tired. Anyhow in a couple of your concerts I’d like to change myself for you.

 

Dani: And me for you in a couple of goals.

 

FT: And, In what position would you play?

 

Dani: Forward, undoubtedly… or middle striker to give you passes (Laughs).

 

FT: I already tried it once with Cafe Quijano, I went out to the stage with a guitar.

 

Dani: I saw you dedicated, don’t you?

 

FT: Totally

 

Dani: That one was for the song of the National Team, wasn’t? I wish we could make it for the Germany’s World Cup …

 

FT: Let’s hope so!.

 

Dani: You have talent making musical videos. (Laughs)

 

FT: Do you think so? The idea was yours.

 

Dani: Yes, you told me joking "One day you have to take me to sing" and I said to you "why don’t we make a video instead?"

 

FT: The truth is that the video work out very well, with Natalia Verbeke.

 

Dani: You’re right, it was a success and it helped a lot to promote the LP.

 

FT: When ever you want, we can do it again. (Laughs)

 

Dani: Ok, we start tomorrow. (Laughs)

 

FT: It was a great experience. Now when I see a video on TV, I know what thing are behind. After seeing what we first made, and what finally come out in the video, you realize that they don’t even use half of the things. I was until three or four o'clock in the morning, and you were until eight o'clock. We did thousand of shots and takes, but the truth is that I was happy.

 

Dani: You did it like a bullfighter.

 

FT: Don’t exaggerate, it was thanks to your help.

 

Dani: I don’t like to give advices. I might advise you on something personal, but I would never tell you anything like "Fer, I believe that you should come more to the side". (Laughs)

 

FT: I’d tell you that you shouldn’t overwhelmed so much. I remember when it came the big change, before the new LP was coming out, when almost you couldn’t walk by the street and you started being saturated.

 

Dani: The best thing that we can do is to keep lean on our families. I believe that thanks to the familiar base and friends that we have we are going to do well. And one each’ other: I appreciate you a lot, I’m glad with your happy moments, and your bad moments hurt me. I always try to be there.

 

FT: Same thing to you!! (Laughs). Also we have our 'spiritual refuge' for the anxiety moments, don’t we? You know, the house of our friend where we had fun, we eat, have dinner with our friends, families … and it helps us to rest.

 

Dani: Yes, he’s a good friend and a very good guy.

 

FT: He’s guilty of all the tattooes we have.

 

Dani: I had one for a long time and I needed to check it out.

 

FT: He made me the first one, number nine, and I took you to check out that old one you had. At the end, we all became such friends...

 

Dani: Yes, do you remember when we take him and his family to have lunch at a quiet restaurant? It was at communions season, they saw us enter and in a short time we were surrounded by people and flashes. They were a bit uncomfortable because they weren’t used to it. It’s more dificult for people who goes with you that for yourself.

 

FT: At this path we will have to go on holidays to Greenland. (Laughs)

 

Dani: Does eskimoes know us?.

 

FT: What do you say …

 

Dani: Don’t they?

 

FT: I don’t think so.
