Titan Sports newspaper, Soccer Weekly, the Japanese newspaper Hochi or the magazine World Soccer Digest have pointed out the forward as one of the football greatest figures worldwide, and even more after his great performance at the recently World Cup celebrated in Germany. In particular, Soccer Weekly magazine has illustrated his front page with Fernando’s image in two numbers from last season – November’05 and August’06, something new in this publication.

On the other hand, the fans also have proved a special kindness for the forward by means of several native gifts from the Oriental Country: stamps, traditional clothes, musical instruments, pictures and more other presents that the fans gave to him, skipping many times the security that came with the red and white team during its Asiatic journey. They didn’t even care waiting several hours until the expedition left the Hotel where Atletico was accommodated with the intention to say hi or to take a picture with their idol.
