Fernando Torres was satisfied with the National Team output after the victory the Spanish team achieved against Iceland. The ‘9’ recognized in declarations to the newspaper AS that they had clear they were going to break the Iceland wall: “It has been the match we were waiting for, with them situated backwards and renouncing to the ball. But we knew that the occasions were going to come. We weren’t in a hurry we have clear our moment was going to come”.

Also he was satisfied for the six points added in the last two matches. “It was a complicated moment for us after the victory against Denmark that didn’t like to the supporters and football in few days gives you another opportunity. We achieved the victory in a difficult match and I am happy for the good image of the National Team”.

Regarding to the strategy the National team show at Ono Estadi, Torres commented that “against Denmark we knew that with the fast break they could hurt us and that’s why we were back at the defense place. Today Iceland didn’t have that kind of danger and we knew we could be more forward. Their goalkeeper was magnificent, but luckily at the end Andrés scored the goal that gave us the triumph.

During the second half Number ‘9’ was knocked down in the area twice: “They made two penalties to me and another one to Villa. When things are against you the decisions of the referee are against also. Luckily we won and we don’t talk about these penalties”.

They passed both tests and the forward advocates to look towards the next matches that will be played next month. “Now we have to disconnect. We have achieved the six points and the aim was that. Let’s see with our teams if we get to a good physic level for those two matches on June” he commented.

To finalize and in reference to the disturbance cause from a supposed conversation with Luis Aragones about his continuity at Atletico, Fernando pointed out “it wasn’t worthy to talk about those things. The most important subjects you have to face them and leave those things apart. What you talk in private is private, but we haven’t talk about Atletico at all. If I have to talk about my club I would do it with my president, not with him. We should settle ourselves on the National Team. Now, Luis and me, we are alright, like always. We talk a lot.
