Fernando Torres will be on a two week leave at the mostAfter hearing the shocking news regarding Fernando’s injury leave, Dr. Villalon, the manager of the medical services of Atletico, disclosed in a press conference the details about Fernando’s knee injury: “Fernando Torres suffers from a grade I sprain of the internal lateral ligament of his right knee, which is the mildest type of sprains, which occurred during the game against the Athletic last Sunday. Torres was able to play the whole game without any problems, but he ended up feeling some discomfort in his knee once he arrived at home after cooling down.

As for the estimated length of the leave, the Doctor said that “the healing and recovery time will be approximately of two weeks, meaning that Fernando will be able to play against Mallorca, and maybe even earlier. He has never had a previous injury in that joint, and he is a player that usually surprises everyone since he makes good recoveries.

Finally, Villalon disclosed that the doctors of the National football team are very well informed about Torres’ injury progress. “The Club’s medical services have got in touch with the doctors of the National team so that they are informed at all times of the player’s condition.
