Four-goal win in Madrid derby move Atletico four points to the top (4-0)

Atlético de Madrid earned all three points from the League derby against Real Madrid due to a great performance at the Vicente Calderón. The red and whites, after the victory, add 50 points and lays four down the top spot. Fernando Torres came on the pitch on minute 76’ replacing Griezmann and made the assist to Mandzukic on the fourth goal. -Liga BBVA Table-

The match kicked off with an electric Atlético, very into the game seeking to take the lead in the first moments. As a result of the initial domain, Simeone's guys were sieging Iker Casillas’ goal and that was how the opportunities began to happen one after another.

Arda Turan would try his luck on the 6th minute from inside the box and at 14’ a powerful low shot from Tiago finished at the bottom of the visiting goal to open the scoreboard. With a roaring Calderon, Saúl would shoot the red and white’s joy with a spectacular goal from a bycicle kick after a great display and assist from Siqueira on the left wing. The red and whites tried to extend their lead further, but Griezmann would crash against Casillas on 24 minutes after a cross. At the edge of the interval, the Calderon called for a penalty by a possible hand of Khedira in the small box.

The second half followed the same path. Atlético continued with the offensive game of the majority of the first half and in just three minutes, between 58’ and 63’, enjoyed four opportunities to score. However, Griezmann, who was involved in three of them, pushed in the far post a header from Saul to sign the 3-0. On 81 minutes, Moyá flew to prevent a goal to a shot by Illarramendi and when the match was coming to its end, Mandzukic headed a cross from Fernando Torres to close the scoreboard.
