On Friday may 26th at 9:00 p.m. will be celebrated at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria the charitable match in favour of the Foundation Oliver Mayor against Cystic Fibrosis, in which Fernando Torres and Jorge Larena are patrons and regular collaborators with events promoted by the foundation, although this time the stage of the Spanish National Team for the World Cup doesn’t allow the captain of the red and white team to go to the second match against the Cystic Fibrosis.

In spite of the absence of Torres, the match will count with the presence of senior players. This time they will play Celta of Vigo, recently qualified to play the next edition of the UEFA Cup, and a few League starts called ‘friends of Jorge Larena’ in which they’ll be playing Raul Garcia, Oscar Vega y Cesar Azpilicueta (Osasuna), Nacho Novo (Glasgow Rangers), Raul Albiol (Valencia), Guayre (Villarreal), Manuel Pablo, Momo y Ruben Castro (Deportivo), Ivan Cuellar (Atletico), Victor Garcia (Racing), Jonathan Sesma (Cadiz), Movilla and Angel Lafita (Zaragoza), Sergio Sanchez (Espanyol) y Pindado (U.D. Las Palmas).

Initially, less than half of the affected people by Cystic Fibrosis hardly surpassed a year of life. Thanks to the investigation, the beginning of specialized units and the use of new treatments and techniques, survival has been improving, increasing the number of adult patients. Even though it is still very necessary the economic collaboration, going ahead with new treatments and create new specialized units to improve the quality of life of the affected people. That is why the raising of the event will be sent to finance the projects concentrated on improving the quality of life of those who are affected: the tickets will have a cost of 6€ for adults and will be free for kids under 15 years old.
