Fernando Torres starts on Monday with Atlético’s squad the preseason work at Los Ángeles de San Rafael (Segovia, Spain). After a first contact last week with the medical test and some light training sessions in Wanda Atlético de Madrid Training Complex in Majadahonda the Red-and-white team start a 12-day period of hard work called to have an important impact in next season’s performance.

Torres and all the players will prepare in double and triple sessions for the hard competition. Saturday 23rd will put an end to the concentration when they play the fourth edition of the Jesús Gil y Gil Memorial in El Burgo de Osma against CD Numancia.

Later, the team will continue training at the Wanda Atlético de Madrid Training Complex until they travel to Australia, where two friendly games are scheduled. The first of them, belonging to the International Champions Cup (ICC), will be held on 29th July at 20:00 (local time, 12:00 CET) in which we will play Tottenham Hotspur at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Two days later, on the 31st of July, at 14:00 (local time, 06:00 CET), Atlético will play the second match against the Australian A-League Melbourne Victory at the Simonds Stadium, in the town of Geelong.

After returning from Australia, Red-and-whites will train in the facilities of Majadahonda and on 6th August, we will play a friendly at the Türk Telekom of Istanbul against Galatasaray. After this match, the team will continue with their preparation in the Wanda Atlético de Madrid Training Complex before travelling to Cádiz to play the last two preparation matches in the Ramón de Carranza Trophy. The first rival will be the home team at 18:30 on 12th August and the second match will be played on the 13th. Once the prestigious tournament in Cádiz is over, the team will stay in Majadahonda to put the finishing touches in the last preparatory details before debuting in the 2016-17 La Liga.
