The Reds will turn to their excellent home form as they look to seal maximum points when Fulham visit Merseyside on Sunday, kick-off at 17:30 hours (GMT). After missing the scoreless midweek Europa League clash, it’s expected that Fernando Torres will face the Londoners at Anfield.

On Wednesday the Reds drew at home to Utrecht 0-0 in the Europa League. Roy Hodgson had originally intended to play Fernando Torres versus the Dutch outfit, but the Anfield boss finally decided against fielding his number ‘9’.

The Spaniard scored for Liverpool in his last outing against Fulham. Back in October 2009 the striker equalised for the visitor’s on 42 minutes with an instinctive volley from outside the box to cancel out a Bobby Zamora strike. But second-half goals from Nevland and Dempsey condemned the Reds to a 3-1 defeat.

Liverpool head into the weekend fixture ninth in the Premier League and 12 points off leaders Manchester United. The fourth Champions League spot is currently occupied by Chelsea who are nine points above the Merseysiders.

Fulham have yet to beat Liverpool at Anfield in 29 attempts and this season the West Londoners have yet to win on the road. To make matters worse for Mark Hughes' side, the Reds have the third best record at home in the Premier League with 17 points from a possible 22 at Anfield.

The Cottagers go into the weekend clash above the relegation zone on goal difference. Fulham are level on points with third from bottom Wigan, one point above Wolves and four above after basement club West Ham.

Roy Hodgson took over the Liverpool manager’s job six months ago joining from Fulham. The former Cottagers’ boss enjoyed two-and-a-half successful years at the Londoners with excellent campaigns in the Premier League plus a Europa League final appearance.

Come Sunday the Merseysiders will be hoping to improve on their last two meetings with Fulham at Anfield as both games ended in a goalless draw.
