The Reds will aim to build on their recent win at Molineux when Fulham visit Merseyside on Wednesday, kick-off at 20:00 hours (GMT). The rearranged match at home to the Londoners was originally scheduled for December 18, but bad weather led to the game being postponed along with several other Premier League fixtures.

Fernando Torres, who grabbed his eighth and ninth goal of the season in the 3-0 win against Wolves, will be targeting double figures for the campaign against the Cottagers. On Saturday, the Liverpool number ‘9’ broke the deadlock against Wolves before rounding the afternoon’s scoring off with the third of the afternoon in added time.

The Spaniard scored for Liverpool in his last outing against Fulham. Back in October 2009 the striker equalised for the visitor’s on 42 minutes with an instinctive volley from outside the box to cancel out a Bobby Zamora strike. But second-half goals from Nevland and Dempsey condemned the Reds to a 3-1 defeat.

For Wednesday’s game Kenny Dalglish will have Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard back after the midfielder finished serving a three-match suspension for his sending off against Man U in the FA Cup. The Liverpool boss however will still be without the injured Jamie Carragher who remains on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.

Mark Hughes will still be without Briggs, Senderos and Zamora, all out injured. The Fulham boss will also have to make do without his first choice keeper as Schwarzer is away on international duty at the Asia Cup. However reserve goalkeeper David Stockdale has performed very well for the Londoners when called upon. As a matter of fact, his side has yet to lose in any of his eight appearances this season.

The Cottagers go into the midweek clash four points above the relegation zone and three points off Liverpool. Fulham have yet to beat Liverpool at Anfield in 29 attempts and this season the West Londoners have won just once on the road away to Stoke City at the end of December.

Although Liverpool head into the weekend fixture in eleventh place in the Premier League, the Reds are just two points off seventh place. The fourth Champions League spot is currently occupied by Chelsea who are twelve points above the Merseysiders.
