Atlético de Madrid fall to defeat 2-1 against Barcelona in a second half that started with 10 men after Filipe Luis’ sending off and which Red-and-whites finished with 9 men after Godín’s bookings. Fernando Torres was out from te called-up for the game at Camp Nou as he is under final stages of the recovering program for an ankle trauma. -La Liga Table-

Atlético de Madrid held its ground at the Camp Nou, with a notable first half, closing Barcelona’s gaps and being ahead many minutes thanks to the goal by Koke, after a good cross by Saúl on 10 minutes. The same Saúl had warned before with a left foot drive that was deflected by Bravo to the corner. And Augusto also warned the stadium with a shot that went out very near to the right post.

But Barcelona had its first opportunity in the 28th minute with a shot from Suárez that was cleared by Oblak and on the 30th Messi tied the match. And, on 38 minutes, Luis Suárez scored the 2-1 with which we reached the half-time. But just before, Filipe Luis was sent off, so visitors had to play the second half with one man less and one goal down.

In the second half, the script was the same as in the first one, with the difference that Atlético played with 10 men. The team was better and Griezmann had a clear chance to a cross from Carrasco that Bravo miraculously saved with his foot. Soon after, there was a play that marked the rest of the game. Godín was bookend second time and Atlético played the last 25 minutes with 9 players. The score did not move despite the attempts of FC Barcelona and a pair of red and white counterattacks.
