Atlético de Madrid is still unbeaten in LaLiga after winning a point at Mestalla against Valencia. It was a hard-fought game as both sides were solid in defence but Atletico attemps to break the deadlock were denied. Torres came onto the pitch on 64’ replacing Vietto and tried hard up front to score the winner but he could not break the Valencia wall.

Atlético de Madrid began the match strong, trying to get ahead against a Valencia that responded. Correa was the first to warn with a shot that was cleared by Neto. Then, half an hour in, Vietto had the clearest chance with a drive that was slightly high, after a pass from Thomas. Vietto also had the last chance of the first half but his shot was high.

In the second half, Atlético continued insisting and the chances kept coming. First it was Carrasco the one that forced Neto to interve and later it was Correa and Nico Gaitán who finished but their shots were saved by the keeper. Finally, a tie against a tough rival. Good defensive work of the team and they created occasions to score that Valencia’s keeper saved.
