With Fernando Torres’ recovery process nearing its end, Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has circled in his diary the Premier league clash versus Spurs on November 1st. The match in London could see the striker return to action following a hamstring injury he picked-up on international duty.

The Liverpool manager confirmed that the forward is almost back to full fitness, and that he could line-up against Spurs in the Premiership fixture. “Fernando is very close. Maybe he'll be okay for the weekend, but he cannot play tomorrow (Portsmouth. We will see how he is over the next two or three days and then make a decision for Saturday.”

The Spaniard will miss the league leaders game at home to Portsmouth on Wednesday night, but with a busy fixture-list ahead, the Reds will be glad to see last season’s top goalscorer available for selection again.
