Atletico de Madrid returned to their winning ways in League play against a feisty Granada at the Vicente Calderón. The Atléticos, after this win, reach 41 points at the end of the first half of the championship. Torres was agains on Simeone's starting eleven and played 59 minutes of the game. Good performace by the Spaniard as the first goal came from the penalty kick-spot after a cross by Torres to Godin. -Liga BBVA Table- 

The match started with a brave Granada who intended to battle the possession of the ball with the red and whites. As minutes went by, Simeone's men settled on the field, controlling the game until Mandzukic opened up the scoreboard in the 32nd minute. A Fernando Torres cross to Godin in the box was followed by a tackle over the Argentina-born defender punished with a penalty. Mandzukic converted for the local side with a right-footed shoot.

The second half started with Simeone's men sieging the goal defended by Oier. The Atléticos were looking to cause havoc along the side lines. That's how the chances to score came along, but without earning a goal. However, as the match was coming to an end, Raúl García closed the scoreboard after a cross from the side by Arda Turan.
