Atlético de Madrid added the point it need in Granada to achieve its goal of finishing on the podium of the League and that third place which made it go directly to the Champions League Group Phase. Granada, on the other hand, also achieved its goal of saving the category thanks to this tie and the results of its direct rivals. -Liga BBVA Table-

Fernando Torres was a last-gap blow from the call-up after suffering an injury in left leg adductor muscle during last training session of the week. The striker ends season with six goals for Red-and-whites since his return to boyhood club on winter transfer window.

A lot of tension in the New Los Cármenes, mostly from the locals, who in the first half hardly unsettled Oblak. Griezmann was the first who tried to beat Roberto a quarter of an hour into the match but his shot didn’t find the goal. In the second half, Koke gave Roberto a hard time with a long-range shot that was saved by Granada’s goalkeeper. It was the only clear chance of either team.

Atlético de Madrid, thus, will play for the first time the Champions League three seasons in a row, establishing itself among the best in the League since Diego Pablo Simeone came to the bench.
