Fernando Torres met up with the national team squad at Spain’s training complex at Las Rozas on Tuesday at 13:00 hours. The country’s goalscoring hero from the Euro 2008 Final, joined fellow Reds; Pepe Reina, Alvaro Arbeloa, Xabi Alonso and Albert Riera in Coach Vicente Del Bosque’s 22-man strong squad.

The Spain manager now has until Saturday to prepare the team for the first of the Group 5 qualifiers versus Fatih Terem’s Turkey at the Santiago Bernabeu, kick-off at 22:00 hours (CET).

The first training session of the week will be held at 18.30 hours. The team will then train again on Wednesday and Thursday before resting on Friday. The squad will be put through their paces on Sunday as the players will remain at the Las Rozas complex until the following day.

Spain will depart to Turkey on Monday 30 March to prepare for the mid-week match versus the Ottomans at the Ali Sami Yen Stadium.

Vicente Del Bosque’s team arrive for the two World Cup qualifiers on the back of four victories in four; and two positive results against second-placed Turkey would cement the European Champions position at the top of Group 5.
