The points are shared as Sagan Tosu and FC Tokyo fight out a stalemate (0-0)

02-09-2018

Sagan Tosu earned a point at third-placed FC Tokyo after a 0-0 draw in the J-League on Sunday. It was a hard game at Ajinomoto Stadium as both teams tried their best to take control of the game and break the deadlock. Locals struck the woodwork twice on the first half and the visitors worked hard to get advantage, but FC Tokyo's backline rarely gave the visitors a clear sight of the goal.

The next fixture against leaders Sanfreece Hisrosima is set for Saturday September the 15th after the international break.

Fernando Torres was on Massimo Ficcadenti’s squad and played almost the full game as he was replaced by Toyoda on 93’.The Spanish striker worked hard up-front to get advantage but he was always under strong pressure by the local defence. On the second half (55’) he could score after a brilliant header but the effort went inches wide over the bar.

After this remarkable away draw to big gun FC Tokio Sagan Tosu remain 16th in the 18-team J1, three points from safety.
