Atlético de Madrid had the best chances in the second half but Griezmann’s finish crashed into the post and Saúl, Carrasco and Gabi’s efforts were denied by Sevilla’s keeper. Torres was out from the squad called-up for the game against Sevilla as he remains under recovering program from an ankle trauma.

The two teams started playing hard, with a lot of struggle in the midfield and few scoring chances. Sevilla, which did not want to concede scoring options to our team, defended well and, nevertheless, had the clearest chance in a shot by Banega that Oblak deflected to the corner. Griezmann could have opened the scoreboard but his drive brushed the crossbar.
In the second half, Griezmann warned with a shot that crashed on Sevilla’s goal post.

Shortly after, Vitolo saw his second yellow card and left Sevilla at a disadvantage with half an hour ahead. From that moment, Sevilla’s team pulled back and both teams found walls in their rivals. Scoring chances ensued and Sergio Rico, the visiting goalkeeper, became the hero against the shots by Saúl, Carrasco and Gabi. It could not be and the match ended in a tie. Now, we have to think about next Wednesday’s Cup match against the Celta at the Calderón.
