The spectacular goal that Fernando Torres scored at the Cup match against Osasuna relieved a high qualification by the Sport and general mass media, adding it to the goal list, either by the beauty execution, or its importance or both things at the same time- are part of the vast video library of memorable goals of the red and white forward.

Marca newspaper included at his front page a stand out headline “Torres scored one of the greatest goals of his life”, to enlarge the information after a double page making reference to the great match that the Madrilenian played: During the whole match he tried it, and he was decisive again”. Likewise Marca includes the declarations of Ricardo, the Osasuna’s goal keeper, he analyzed the number ‘9’ goal: “The Kid’ has made a great goal and if I wasn’t able to stop it nobody is”.

AS took to his front page the goal with a stand out headline “A great goal by Torres”, to gather the inner pages with “Torres always comes back” and points out that “His goal save a weak Atletico, with ten players since minute 48”. Vicente Carreño, at his column labelled the captain as a “genious” and he stood out he “is a guy able to score great goals, and he also runs during the whole match, he fights without a resting and he never gives up”.

Mundo Deportivo, on his side, published with big typeface at its front page ”Long life Torres!” Dedicating the first pages to the report of the match under the headline of “Torres revived Atletico” and the previous title “A great goal of the ‘Kid’ disguise another mistake and gives hope for the return match”. A day after, M.D. remembers the spectacular execution and includes it in the gallery of honour of the most important goals by Number ‘9’: “The ‘Kid’ points another artistic drawing”. At the end it makes reference to the best goals Torres has scored during his trajectory at First Division, adding Osasuna to an affected list which includes Deportivo, Betis, Mallorca and Barcelona.

The general Press at internet also made reference to Fernando’s goal. Web El Pais points out that “Torres saves Atletico”, to pointing out later that “with ten players and Osasuna winning, a play by the forward was useful to minimize the crisis of the Madrilenian Team at Vicente Calderon. That was the best of the match”.

The ‘website’ of El Mundo opted by the headline “Torres prevent something worst” commenting that “Fernando Torres saved Atletico, more or less, of the umpteenth shipwreck at Calderon. ‘The kid’, with a great goal that could be framed, prevented the red and white defeat against Osasuna [...] With ten players and doomed to another catastrophe at home, Fernando Torres played as the crack he is and smooth the situation of Atletico”.

Finally, ABC’s web titled “Torres saved the spaceship of a destroyed Atletico”, to remember afterwards that “Torres was, with a strong and spectacular shot, the one who saved the team that was playing with ten players after the sending off Pablo. The goal by the leader of the team was the award for the red and white team, that didn’t gave up even with a one player less”
