‘Torres’, a ‘red and white’ falcon to take care of the Calderon's field

24-08-2006
‘Torres’, a ‘red and white’ falcon to take care of the Calderon's fieldAtletico of Madrid will have a new ‘Torres’. This is about the last falcon signed up by Jorge Castaño for the next season that he has baptized it with the last name of the red and white captain. The new falcon will be in charge, with its partners (‘Valera’, África, Indi and Pache), of preventing the pigeons not to eat the seeds cropped in the field of the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

Castaño, experienced on falcons has been working four years for Atletico, will named ‘Torres’ to his new incorporation because “Fernando is a symbol of the team, he is demonstrating he defends Atletico and, above all, he is an Atletic. That’s why he deserves it”.

At the time to describe ‘Torres’, Jorge commented that it’s a bird “very specialized for birds. The other three we have, Africa, Indi and Pache, have a biggest range of hunt and they are good on everything. However ‘Torres’ like ‘Valera’ are very good on the pigeons. That’s why we have signed it up”.
