Keko put Eibar ahead at the start of the second half and shortly after, Giménez and Saúl scored the 2-1. Torres scored the final goal, which was his 100th goal for Atlético de Madrid.

Atlético arrived to this game with important absences, since the defenders against Eibar was unprecedented, with Lucas making his debut in the League and Saúl having to play as a centre-back. The first half was controlled by Atlético and with few chances on both sides. It seemed as if the two teams were holding back for the second half.

And so it was, because just as it started, a former Atlético, Keko, scored on the first shot from his team. He didn’t celebrate it because he was trained in our ranks. We needed to push back and the team got to work. Only 10 minutes later, the tie came in a practised play. Koke made the third consecutive corner kick and Giménez finished the 1-1. And seven minutes later, on 63, another corner by Koke was sent to the net by Saúl, turning the match around.

But we were missing the icing to the match, put by Fernando Torres in the stoppage time, finishing a pass by Vietto, scoring his 100th goal as an Atlético that certified a win, Simeone’s 100th as Atlético’s coach.
