Emotional night at Allianz Arena Stadium. Atlético de Madrid beat Liverpool FC in the Audi Cup final game, winning the prestigious tournament in Munich against some big guns of Europe. Fernando Torres had some playing minutes on the final stage of the game and scored his first goal to former club. He scored a critical shoot form kick spot after Hederson failed to scored in the second attempt for Reds.

Keidi scored Atletico’s goal in the first half and Firmino, with a penalty kick, took the match to the penalty shootouts. Moyá saved the second one and was decisive to win the Audi Cup in the shootouts (4-5).

Atlético and Liverpool changed their XIs with respect to the semi-finals and it was an exciting game, with a beginning of the fixture with more possession of the ball from the English players but, as the minutes went by, Atlético started to control the game. That was how, step by step, Simeone’s team scored the first, in a play that Keidi initiated with a pass to Augusto, who shot it to Vrsaljko. Correa crashed the Croatian’s cross on the woodwork and Keidi, paying close attention, took advantage of the cleared ball to score with a header.

Atletico reached the break with this result and, in the second half, we could see a very serious and tight Atleti. Liverpool tried but could not find Moyá's goal clearly. It had to be with a penalty when Firmino scored the equaliser. In the end, despite the attempts of ones and the others, the title was decided in the penalty shootouts. Moyá was crucial after saving the second penalty kick by Henderson. Atlético engraves its name in the Audi Cup, being the second Spanish team that wins it, after Barcelona.
