The turn of the Press room belong today to Fernando Torres. The player from Fuenlabrada analyzed the last events that happened in the club, mainly Carlos Bianchi's cessation and Pepe Murcia's promotion to the bench of the first team.

The forward pointed the bad results as the main cause for the exit of the Argentinean: "When we started pre-season we talked about qualifying for the Champions League, but while the season was passing the results weren’t good and the team was being lost and demoralizing. At football world the results lead and the trainers have that handicap. I think that at the end, the decision was the right one, for Bianchi and for the players". "Bianchi arrived with some ideas that gave him many titles along his career. He tried to put them in practice with Atletico of Madrid and he wasn’t lucky. It’s logical for anyone to continue being faithful to his ideas. Now Pepe Murcia is trying to put in practice the same game style that used in the second team", he indicated.

About the new coach's work, Torres doesn't doubt when he assures that "since he arrived we have seen an improvement in the team. First in the match against Betis and later against Zaragoza in Copa del Rey and League. We have started from zero", and he compared the current moment with the pre-season sensations: "We start with a lot of illusion and many desires, and that is what is happening to us now."

"When a team is thirteenth at the table nobody is happy and the players were blocked. Now we are trying to put the trainer in a hard position, since all the players want to enter to play", he added.

Among the circumstances that have facilitated the reaction of the team, the forward included the return of players like Ibagaza and Mateja Kezman to the regular first-team: "The type of game of 'Caño' favours the whole team, because he makes us play. Also, Kezman contributes with goals and work. In any team some great player always stays out of the starting team and noone wants to be that player. Peter, Maxi and Galletti are playing very well, so now it’s difficult to choose the line up."

Looking at the next Saturday match against Deportivo, Torres analyzed the rival's qualities, and he qualified them as "the classic team trained by Caparrós. They don't leave many free spaces and they put a lot of presure on the exit of the ball. They know what they play and they read very well the games”. After falling eliminated in Copa del Rey, the captain considers vital the game against the Galicians in order to ratify the reaction shown in Zaragoza: “We have to fight for something more than the permanency. Now we have to demonstrate that last Saturday’s victory wasn’t an illusion and we have to defeat Deportivo”.

Finally, the forward talked about the President's, Enrique Cerezo, words about his future in Atletico of Madrid: We don’t understand that they don't allow the team to train a single week in a calm way. I have tried to isolate myself from rumors. The president has the right to say what he wants. I want to stay here and it isn’t the best moment to speak about that. The important thing is to win and to leave this situation. I have a contract and I want to complete it; I’m at home and this is my desire", he concluded.
